FGDs are used when the company wants to understand an audience response to a specific advertisement campaign they are considering running.  The company wants to see how well it is received before they spend the money running it to the general public.  Again, you will usually be asked if you want to participate in this type of survey or not. When you agree to participate, your group will discuss what your reaction is to the product or service the company is trying to sell.

 Movie Trailer

For this type of survey, the viewers are asked to look at the main idea of the movie as well as form an impression of the movie. You will usually have to rate the trailer according to its effectiveness and what type of response the audience had to it.
